So I have decided to start my own blog to share my ideas on activities and experiences to do with children around the house or at a childcare centre. I have worked in early childhood for ten years now and have my Bachelor of Teaching in Early Childhood Education. Over the last ten years I have worked as a nanny and in early childhood centres in New Zealand. I have recently moved to Melbourne, Australia where I am relieving in centres and experiencing how the early childhood industry is in a different country.
Many people think it’s important to teach their children how to read and write before they go to school but I believe that is what school is for. Let them play while they still have the chance! Before they go to school they need to be socially and emotionally ready to cope with this major transition into the world of school.
Before children can hold the pencil to write there name, they need the fine motor skills to hold, control and manipulate that pencil. Let’s help children develop those essential skills before we make them write words. I will share some easy activities to do with your children to help them develop and grow!!
